Toyamato Century EA
A fully automated mean-reversion robot for MetaTrader 4 and 5. It waits until the price has moved unusually far from its average, enters against the stretch, and closes when the price returns to the average. One position at a time – no grid, no martingale – with the Toyamato Account Guardian built in.

Not a holy grail. No robot, indicator or strategy wins all the time. Toyamato Century EA is a tool: it can have losing trades, losing weeks and losing months. Results depend on the market, your broker, your settings and your risk. Test it with the free demo first. Read the risk warning →
Important: your 2 account numbers are entered at checkout and cannot be changed. When you buy, you type the 2 MetaTrader account numbers you want to use (live or demo, you decide) into the checkout form. The license works only on these 2 accounts – for good. For a new account you need a new license.
Check the numbers carefully before you pay. The license is tied to the account number, not to a computer: you can use the same accounts on any computer or VPS.
How it works
Some currency pairs rarely build long trends. AUD and CAD, for example, are both commodity currencies: when one moves far away from the other, the move often fades again. Toyamato Century EA is built on this mean-reversion behaviour.
- Stretch. On every new M30 candle the robot measures how far the price closed from the 100-period moving average (SMA100).
- Entry. When the distance is inside the entry zone (for example 35–92 pips on AUDCAD), the last candle pushed further in the same direction, and the volatility (ATR) is high enough, it opens one trade against the stretch: a sell above the average, a buy below it.
- Exit. The trade closes when the price crosses back over the 80-period average (SMA80), or at the take profit (a target near the EMA20, capped) or the fixed stop loss.
The robot holds at most one position per chart. It never adds trades, never doubles the lot and never hedges. Every trade has a stop loss on the broker's server from the first second.
Toyamato Account Guardian – built in
The full protection logic of our free Toyamato Account Guardian runs inside the robot. It never opens a trade; it watches the whole account every second and closes all open positions (optionally only the robot's own) when
- the equity falls more than your limit from its recorded peak (default 30%), or
- the floating loss reaches your limit compared with the balance (default 20%).
It retries until everything is closed, sends a push notification to your phone, and resets the peak automatically after a withdrawal. You can switch it off or use it on one chart only.
Protection
Large candle shield
No entry right after a spike: when the signal candle is too large, or the price jumps too fast within seconds.
News filter
Pauses new entries before and after important economic news from an online calendar.
Spread and rollover
No entry when the spread is too high, and none on the midnight candle when spreads widen.
Time, Friday and holidays
Optional trading hours, no new trades or full close on Friday, holiday break from 15 December to 15 January.
Own drawdown limit
Closes the robot's position when its floating loss reaches your limit, with an optional lockout.
Trailing stop and break-even
Optional: trail the stop behind the price, or move it to the entry after a set profit. One click on the panel closes the trade at 0 profit.
Recommended pairs
The strategy needs pairs that tend to return to their average. The author tested six pairs on M30. The robot's default settings are made for AUDCAD M30; the .set files for the other pairs are on the Backtests page, together with the test report.
| AUDCAD M30 | Main pair – the strategy was built for it |
|---|---|
| NZDCAD M30 | Recommended as a second chart |
| AUDNZD M30 | Recommended as a second chart |
| AUDCHF, CADCHF, EURGBP M30 | Not recommended – weak results in the author's long-term tests |
Based on the author's own testing. Not a guarantee of results. A pair that worked in the past can stop working.
Important: Magic Number and several charts
One unique Magic Number per chart. Every copy of Toyamato Century EA needs its own Magic Number that no other EA in the same MetaTrader uses. The .set files on the Backtests page already use different numbers – after loading one, still check that no other robot uses the same number.
Several charts = more risk. Each chart trades independently. Use smaller lots, and keep the built-in Account Guardian switched on – on one chart is enough, because it watches the whole account.
News filter
The robot downloads the weekly economic calendar (the same events you see on the ForexFactory economic calendar) and uses only the news of the two currencies of your chart. Before and after a filtered event (2 hours by default) it opens no new trades; an open trade is still managed. The news lines and pause zones are drawn on the chart.
To use it, allow https://nfs.faireconomy.media in MetaTrader under Tools > Options > Expert Advisors > Allow WebRequest. The news filter is not active in the Strategy Tester (MetaTrader limitation).

License and refund
How the license works – please read
- Before you pay, you type your 2 MetaTrader account numbers (live or demo, you decide) on the Gumroad checkout page.
- After payment you receive the files and one license key – on screen and by e-mail.
- You paste the license key into the
License_Keyinput of the robot. - The robot checks the key online and runs only on these 2 account numbers.
- It works on any computer or VPS – at home, on a laptop or on a VPS, even on several at once. Only the account number counts.
- The computer needs internet, and
https://api.gumroad.commust be allowed in MetaTrader (Tools > Options > Expert Advisors > WebRequest) – then restart MetaTrader. - The 2 account numbers cannot be changed later. A different account is only possible with a new purchase.
⚠ Important – follow this order, or the license check will fail
- Tools > Options > Expert Advisors: tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add both addresses:
https://api.gumroad.com(license check)https://nfs.faireconomy.media(news calendar) - Restart MetaTrader – close it completely and open it again. The license check works only after this restart.
- Only then attach the robot and paste your license key.
- If the panel shows No connection to license server: restart MetaTrader once more.
When the license is not valid, or the demo has ended, the robot opens no new trades. An open trade is still managed and closed, and the built-in Account Guardian keeps protecting the account. Step-by-step activation →
A 7-day refund applies if the software does not work technically on your MetaTrader (an installation or activation problem that we cannot solve together, or the wrong platform purchased). Trading results and losses are not a reason for a refund – please use the free 10-day demo to test it first. When a refund is issued, the license key is deactivated.
Getting started
- Download the free 10-day demo and the PDF manual from the demo library and install it in MetaTrader.
- Allow the WebRequest addresses in MetaTrader (Tools > Options > Expert Advisors).
- Run it on a demo account on AUDCAD M30 with the default settings (or a .set file from the Backtests page) and get to know the panel and the settings.
- When you are ready, buy the full version for MT4 or MT5 and enter your license key.
Setup & Testing Guide – install and test step by step →
A mean-reversion strategy loses when a pair starts a strong, long trend and does not return to its average. The stop loss limits each loss, but several losses in a row are possible. Use the Account Guardian and money you can afford to lose.
